Bradet, Intorsura Buzaului, Romania
2006
35mm photo
After several years of absence, in 2006 I went back to Romania, my mother’s homeland, to the house, once inhabited by my grandma, where I had spent so many childhood Summers.
A journey through time and memory, in the intimacy of a familiar place, where my sight lingers on objects that were lost and then found again, to recognize myself in a slow path of revealing and rediscovery of a deep bond emerging from under the dust.
Dust has a peculiar relationship with both space and time: it fills the space of absence, the time of distance. Each object has been cleaned and put back in place.
