New meeting spaces are no longer public places: the public space is now the web.
Making community is expressed in virtual communications, where bodies protruding into the network explore impalpable relationships, mutating architectures, new cybernetic geographies, and consuming information in .avi or .jpg format.
“Substitutes of presences” conveyed by the network and reflected by the screen meet to socialise, play, wander around, love, and exchange opinions and information, so as not to feel alone. Comfortably seated in front of the screen, one travels up to 20 Mb/s projecting oneself elsewhere, the “void” is all around.
